Book Blurb:

Mrs. McGee, poses that important question on the first day of school. Children excitedly (and sometimes shyly) talk about their career aspirations in verse. Delightful occupations such as dancer, baker, nurse, fireman, architect and many more are mentioned. During these hard times, children need to dream!

About the Author:

Beth has been in marketing for 20 years and is a former bank vice president. Now, a full-time writer, she has published two children’s picture books, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE? and THE MISSING KEY. She’s also published in three Echoes of the Ozarks anthologies (poems and short stories) and A Bad Hair Day anthology. She has been published alongside celebrities and famous authors in two six-word memoir books, IT ALL CHANGED IN AN INSTANT and SIX WORDS ABOUT WORK. She’s even published in a 2013 six-word desk calendar!

My Thoughts:

I sat down with my 9 year old daughter one night a couple of weeks ago and read this to her. I absolutely adored this book! It was so cute. I smiled the whole time I was reading it to her. But what you really want to know is what my daughter thought of it right? Here is the conversation we had.

Me: Well, what did you think of the book?

Daughter: It was awesome! The author is a really good writer!

She had so much excitement for the book that my 8 year old son read it the next morning at the breakfast table before school. He also enjoyed it. AND, if that’s not enough praise for this wonderful children’s book, my housemate (a future elementary school teacher) read it. She loved it too.

The book is written in verse, which made it even that much better. The illustrations were spot on. My kids really enjoyed those as well. All around great book for kids.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars! Well Done Beth! I highly recommend this book.
