Friday Fun!

Nope, I didn’t forget and I still have about 40 minutes of Friday left. Then I have got to go to bed because I have a very important joint birthday party to host tomorrow for Super and Sassy. That’s right Super turned 9 a couple of weeks ago and Sassy will be 10 in a couple of weeks.I’m just amazed I got them to agree on a theme. What’s the theme? Minions (specifically from Despicable Me). It’s going to be awesome!

Anyway, on to the Friday Fun.

I know I’ve said this before, but I’m going to say it again. I love going out to eat with my family. Not only because I don’t have to cook, but because we have some of the best family conversations.

The conversation started with Super and Bean Pole telling Clyde and I that they both want to be surgeons when they grow up. (The fact that they are even contemplating this makes me one proud mama).

Super: I want to be a brain surgeon. (Awesome, right?)
Super: How do you do surgery on the brain?
Me: First you have to cut open their skull with a saw…
Simon: o.O
Me: Yep…so you can get to the part of the brain you need to operate on.
Super: But the person is asleep right?
Me: Sometimes, sometimes they have to be awake for the procedure…
Simon: O.O
Me: …yep…
Super: What other kinds of surgeons are there?

Then the discussion turns to all the kinds of surgery doctors there are, but Super goes right back to the brain surgeon thing and the schooling it requires.

Super: How long do I have to go to school to be a brain surgeon?

Me: A long time, but you’ll be studying with other people that want to do the same thing. You have to go to college, then medical school.

Super: How long will that take?

Me: I’m not sure, but you get to do all sorts of interesting things, like dissect a dead body.

Super: O.O …

Clyde: Yep you’ll have to cut it open and identify all the organs.

Super: O.O …

Me: Do you think you will be able to do that?

Super: O.O … I guess.

Then we have Sassy…

Sassy: I want to be a dog sitter and wash cars.

Me & Clyde: O.O … oh, no…

Good night all! Have a pleasant and safe Labor Day weekend!
